Full/Part time Worship Leader Objective

To lead all aspects of the worship ministry at Veneration Church. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain an authentic and growing walk with Jesus Christ through the ongoing spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, personal worship, fasting, and fellowship
  • Full time or part time Worship leader for Veneration Church
  • Responsible for recruiting, training and maintaining worship teams
  • Direct all weekly activities and rehearsals necessary to facilitate worship 
  • Maintain Planning Center, update charts, MP3’s, lyrics, recordings, scheduling musicians etc. (workload depends on full/part time employment) 
  • Overseeing the worship ministry budget, organization and volunteers
  • Lead worship for special events on an as needed basis
  • Assist the pastoral staff in creating a healthy Church environment
  • Available for pastoral ministry and other ministry opportunities as needed
  • Set annual goals for the worship ministry, in line with our vision and then evaluate how those goals were attained or modified during the year
  • Attend Staff meetings and functions (depending on full/part time employment)
  • Other duties as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong theological knowledge and ability to deliver gospel truths within worship services
  • Instrumental proficiency – strong vocal, musicianship and stage presence
  • Skilled in organization, administration and interpersonal relationships
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Planning Center Online programs
  • Demonstrated excellence as a worship leader with 2+ years of experience growing a worship ministry (preferred but not mandatory)  

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

The full-time (40hrs/week) position work consist of Sunday services and Monday thru Thursday 9am-4pm.    
The part-time position work consists of Sunday services, rehearsals, and office work totaling roughly 20 hours per week. (this is negotiable)  Both positions report directly to the Executive Pastor.

The church has several big events throughout the year to help further the mission of Veneration Church. These events are mandatory for all staff to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year.  Our entire staff family is called to action, so that we can continue to be a movement for all people to meet and walk with Jesus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role would require the ability to lift equipment and bend or stand as necessary.    

MINISTERIAL EXCEPTION

The ministerial exception furthers the purposes of the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment by barring legal claims against church bodies by staff members who perform religious functions. All church pastors are subject to the exception, but a formal ministerial credential is not required. While there is no rigid formula to determine other church staff members that qualify, various factors are considered to determine which staff members are subject to the ministerial exception.

Staff members who qualify under the ministerial exception are not covered by federal and state employment and anti-discrimination laws.
